Sea Thiasos

This semester, I researched the Sea Thiasos mosaic. Originally, I chose it because I found it interesting that it was not divided into several pieces, like many other mosaics of that size. In my research, I found out that much of the mosaic was missing when it was found and a lot of guesses were made when restoring large swaths of it. I also found out that the house the mosaic was found in was built over part of the main aqueduct that served the area. Click the link below to read the entire article!
